Mediation is an alternative form of dispute resolution which helps parties reach an agreement between themselves, avoiding the need for court proceedings. Ward Gethin Archer’s Family Mediation Service can help with a range of family matters including separation, divorce, child arrangements, property and finance.
Family Mediation, as with other forms of mediation, is conducted by an independent, trained mediator. The mediator is not on either person’s ‘side’ and will always remain neutral. Crucially, the mediator is not there to give legal advice. Their role is to facilitate discussions and negotiations, and to support the parties in reaching a satisfactory agreement. Sarah Fairbrother, Director and Family Solicitor at Ward Gethin Archer is a trained Mediator.
Ward Gethin Archer’s Mediation Service helps families reach an agreement in a non-confrontational way, helping to reduce stress and conflict. Commenting on the new service, Sarah Fairbrother, said:
“Family matters, especially separation, can be very upsetting for all concerned. Our new Mediation Service helps families to find a solution that is right for them and will benefit any children involved. I am really looking forward to helping families across Ward Gethin Archer’s office locations.”
The Family Mediation Service is available at: Chatteris, Dereham, Downham Market, Ely, Heacham, King’s Lynn (Tuesday Market Place and Regis Place, Bergen Way), Swaffham and Watton. Mediation to help with employment disputes is also available across Ward Gethin Archer’s office network.
