I was born in Histon, near Cambridge. My parents moved to Ely when I was 7 where I lived until moving to King’s Lynn in 1994.
I live in North Wootton with my wife, Amber, who has lived in and around King’s Lynn all her life.
I have served as Chair of Governors at South Wootton Junior School, which my children Kate and Owen attended, for 2 separate periods.
I have always been a keen sportsman, representing Cambridgeshire at football and cricket in my younger years. My sporting interest now is limited to golf at King’s Lynn Golf Club and watching West Norfolk Rugby Club.
Amber and I are keen travellers having visited Botswana (for safari), India, Nepal, China, Uganda and Rwanda (Gorilla and chimpanzee trekking), the Maldives, Sri Lanka, the West Indies, Mexico, America and several European cities in recent years.
I was admitted as a solicitor on 15th October 1987, having gained a law degree at what is now Nottingham Trent University.
I trained at what was then Archer and Archer in Ely before joining Ward Gethin in 1993. The two firms have, of course, since merged.
I became a partner in the business in 1993.
I have specialised in personal injury and employment work for 25 years aiming to provide a personal service to both individual and business clients.
I joined Ward Gethin in April 1993 and have remained here since, moving from a role as Assistant Solicitor to my current role as Managing Director.
I still enjoy acting for individuals who have been injured and for both individuals and businesses with employment issues/concerns.
A significant part of my time is spent running the business where I am responsible for ensuring the business meets its strategic objectives and is properly resourced and managed.
I have 25 years of experience of acting for seriously injured people. I believe I can help them through the traumatic post-accident period and provide security for their future.
In the employment arena, I have experience of running a business and am aware of the day to day challenges of doing so. I can, therefore, offer a practical approach to problem-solving and business management.
